How religious were actually orange men "who came to the southern parts of the United States and where did they come?

how were asked of the house in the country's population? and the size of a group popualational were compared with other religious groups as Mormant, menninites, the Puritans, the Amish, Lutherans, etc? Please explain and describe its peculiarities and differences philosophocal? many religious even just used that excuse to emigrate to the United States? was immigration to the United States at this time need for a religious excuse to come? why and for how long, if so?
