How do you teach a cat to walk on a harness?

I'm going to be adopting a kitten or a cat from the animal Shelter in a few days and i was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to get them used to it?

All cats are different.

With that said, less than thirty minutes after bringing my harnesses and leashes home, I had all of my kittens outside walking me.

With more than one makes it much easier. I first tried one, then another until I found one that didn't mind the harness being put on. Then, the rest was easy as with all cats, once you do one, the rest will follow. As stated earlier, I first put on the harness.. then I waited a few seconds, LOL, and then attached the leash and outside we went. It was so easy, but as I said, what works with one cat don't mean it will work with another.

Patience and more patience is my best advise to you. But, it CAN be done!
