is it correct to rest under-ream(friction) pile on hard strata?
Is it correct to rest under-ream(friction) pile on hard strata say murum(soft rock)?I think it will fail just like a nail when hammered in wooden plank it will bend when we try to hammer it in the stone wall behind That means friction between wood &nail is lossed
The nail fails outside the wood. Inside the wood the nail is fully supported against buckling.
On hard strata the load will be shared by end bearing and side friction.
