I've always noticed on the scoreboard flash flight, but today, for the first time I hit the button twice to lock and the horn beeps once, and I hit the lock button 3 times and the horn sounds twice. Is this to start the fight against theft?

It is a passive anti-theft system (PATS). If you press the power locked in the car with the door open to close and then exit and closing the door to activate the system. Also, if you close the door and press the lock button once on your remote to activate the system (you need 30 seconds to activate, I think - see the light flashing every few seconds FLIGHT when lit). Double clicking the lock button and the horn honking is just a confirmation sound, in effect, lock the doors and the system is activated.
