Question about injured dog?
My Pit Bull injured his leg recently. I took him to the vet and she told me that I simply need to leg his leg rest which means short walks, no rough housing, and definitely no running. I've been following her orders but I think my dog is going crazy. He is used to going on a two hour run in the morning, a walk midday, and another run at night. I always take him with me when I go out or to a friend's house but I've had to leave him home lately because he gets very excited and plays rough with the other dogs.
I feel terrible but know it's for the best if I make him rest. He has a Kong to keep him stimulated as well as a plush puzzle toy, but I feel like he needs more. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can keep his mind active so he won't get too bored? His leg is getting better but it seems like he still has a few more days of rest ahead of him.
