Mannequin Models
What do you do in Artistic Anatomy and Figure Drawing for Animation class?

Is it different that traditional figure drawing class, I already took some.

Basically what happens in the class, please give me some details on what are some of the stuff you have to do and work on during different phases of these classes. Like do you still work on a lot of gestures with live models, or mostly long poses? Do you still work with nude models or just skeletons and mannequins?

anatomy is pretty standard from what I can tell. We did alot of bone studies, muscle studies. Long drawings with tracing paper overlays of bones and muscle groups.
Life drawing started out the same, but diverged more each year. we went into classes where we would take the model and apply a cartoon model to her poses. Even though we had a slim female model we might draw a hugely fat man, or a scrawny old man. I greatly prefer 3-5 minuet poses, but we did as long as 25 min in my last year of animation school. We always had a live model for life drawing, For anatomy we started out with skeletons and loose bones and then moved on to life model. We also spent some time at an anatomy museum at a local med school.
