Dog is shedding and has itchy red patches on arm pits?
Hi, I just got Stoli ( a 1 1/2 year old Jack Russel) yesterday. Her owner was never home and so we took her in. She is a great dog, but i have noticed that her arm pits/elbows are completely hairless and she is red and itchy there. Also behind her ears and under her neck(collar area). I bought her a harness so the collar could be removed, and i have been putting Sulfodene on her arms and neck. You can also see pink through her coat. She itches on furniature and also will shake to itch it. I just want to know how i can help her until we can get to the vet on tuesday, since it is labor day weekend and no vets are open.
We did change her foot to a "healthy skin" pro plan by purina.
I meant food......not foot
Just by your description there is a strong possibility Stoli might suffer from some allergy, maybe food allergy if you recently changed the brand of food.
