Why are plastic materials such as food storage containers take longer to dry in the air than other materials such as glass?
I found that this is true both when washing hands and using the dishwasher / w dry heat setting. I'm sure is a scientific explanation and that is what I want.
Air drying involves heat transfer droplets of water so that water molecules have enough energy to escape the drop is, they evaporate. Generally, the glass is thicker than plastic and store more energy than could be used heat transfer and evaporation of water. In addition, the glass can transfer heat faster than plastic. This would make a fine science project school fair.
