Why is it that older males of European descent are CONSISTENTLY portrayed as the village idiot in advertising?
This question refers to American advertising on television.
Why is the father figure portrayed as inferior to his wife and children? Why, in a multi-cultural setting is the white guy always the idiot? Why aren't the racism advocates standing up and threatening the companies responsible for this type of advertising?
I was kind of hoping for something a bit more insightful than - GET OVER IT. Isn't anyone else disturbed by the pattern?
Why get offended unless you feel it is true, that is the problem these days no body has a sense of humor and everybody is so touchy, grow a funny bone and get down off your pedestal.
