Question about traveling on a plane with Your Dog.?
My dog is a 27 pound Blue Heeler. She is pretty small for her breed. I can carry her almost like a Toy Dog, except she's heavier. She's about 17" high. Here's a picture of her length and how small she is.

I believe that I would be able to take her on the plane with me if I got a Tote Bag big enough for her, correct? I've flown plenty of times across country, and judging by how small she is, I think she'd be able to fit under the seat with room left to move around. I need opinions as I am a first time dog flyer and I refuse to have her put down in cargo, but I would love to take her with me on trips. I've seen a few bags for 28 pound dogs online and at Wal Mart. Would this work, or is there a weight/height limit for dogs being taken on board? Any information from people who have experience with flying dogs would be great, thanks.
lol, dogs CAN travel in the main cabin if they're small enough, that's exactly why i was asking.
It depends on the airline. I would check with what airline you are planning on traveling with. I know that some only allow dogs to travel in the cargo hold, but some will allow dogs to travel in the cabin, in an approved carrier. Im not sure of the size restrictions, though, but I think 27 lbs may be pushing it. Last time I checked, I couldn't find an airline that allowed a carry on pet over 5lbs
