my cockteil bird doesent bite me, but every time i pet it it runs away, what should i do?
it dosent let me pet her in front, cause then he bites, and when i pet him on the head she waits for me to finish and the runs away and dosent let me toch her any more!
Okay when did you get it?It takes time for them to get to know you. Pu her in your bedroom and cover up with a towel at night. Do not try to hold at all for 2 qweeks. Try talking softley to her and moving about your room. Do not leave her in the Living Room. Too many people. Too much excitment. Visit her alot. Put your hand up to the side of her cage slowly. Try your hair. They love to feel like you are a bird so hait is great feathers. She'll come to it and play if she is bored. Sit her cage on your desk or bureu so she is at eye level. Have a radio on when your not there to talk to her. Not too loud though. She'll come sooner if you go slower. Trust her, do not flinch every time she uses her beck to get on your hand or peeks at your finger when your try to touch her. The bite only hurts a little bit. Wait be pateint. trust her. Offer her some bananna or an apple, no citrus though. Maybe a grape if she sees food and asociates it with you than she'll tame faster.
